I have to say I don’t like it. It’s all whitespace and mountains. On my screen, there’s exactly one line of content above the fold. And there’s no mention on the page of who you are or what you do (am I imagining that there used to be a brief description of you, and/or Perfect Table Plan, on each page?)
(I’m sure my blog errs on the side of “old-fashioned dense splattery mess”, but you asked. :-) )

I like the bigger image and bigger font. It might not be to everyone’s taste though.
You have to click on ‘about’ for anything about me (as previously). And I don’t really plug my product on this blog (beyond the occasional backlink for context/SEO) – it wouldn’t be very targeted.
I’ve reduced the height of the image header a bit.
Looks fine to me, but it’s doesn’t seem too different to what you had before. I am going from memory as I haven’t visited this website for a few weeks.
I was trying to make the change not too radical.
Hmm this is the default WordPress theme. Am I missing something?
I only realised that after I made the change.
it looks strange on a samsung tablet, like missing css for the menu.
Running Android?
I never see it. I read all blogs through Feedly (previously Google Reader), usually through a mobile client program like Nextgen Reader. What proportion of readers still go directly to the blog website I wonder?
